What You'll Do

Answer inbound calls from customers for dispatching and to obtain trucking rates for incoming/outgoing shipments Assist in dispatching outbound/inbound shipments Dispatch trucks using most efficient routes Coordinate with driver supervisors and logistics/operations leaders to execute strategies to build/maintain a culture of safety throughout all aspects of on-road transportation operations Determine efficient and safe routing methods of transportation Determines the most efficient, cost effective method of transportation Looks for opportunities to solve issues in partnership with transportation and logistics – works to proactively prevent problems before they occur and to troubleshoot when problems do occur Motivate employees to meet warehouse and transportation standards, goals, accuracies, efficiencies, and customer satisfaction Strategically oversee multiple teams including logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer service Own and maintain the strategic plan for designated logistics operations – this includes forward-looking strategy for internal CMC fleet as well as supporting portfolio of owner-operators, dedicated contract haulers, and third-party contract haulers Must champion Safety and promote safety by example in all aspects of the operations

What You'll Need

Must be able to put team goals ahead of individual goals Customer Service focused Exceptional leadership and team building skills Must be able to maintain and be familiar with safety and environmental concerns Computer proficiency in dispatch software such as Microsoft, SAP, TMW, PC Miler, etc Prior DOT and dispatching experience preferred Two years of experience in transportation preferred (brokerage, dispatching, or management in trucking) Experience with and knowledgeable of Transportation and Fleet Management Strong understanding of and experience with managing the functional aspects of logistics execution with both in house fleets and third party carriers Working knowledge of logistics and supply chain activities Must have effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and able to work with all levels of the organization

Your Education

High School Diploma or GED required Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management preferred
