Research Associate- Yamanaka Lab

:The Yamanaka lab is for its pioneering work reprogramming adult cells into pluripotent stem cells. We are now accepting applications for Research Associates (RAs) starting in Fall 2023. The RA will work closely with senior researchers on reprogramming, stem/progenitor cells, and rejuvenation research projects. Each project has a prospect of one or two publications over two years. The RAs are expected to contribute to the project by critically processing relevant literature, proposing and performing assays, and collecting and presenting experimental data in lab meetings. Specific techniques employed in the project include but are not limited to mouse handling, animal experiments, genotyping, molecular cloning, DNA/RNA/Protein prep, and mammalian cell culture.
Requirements:
AA or AS and 2+years related experience or BS or BA or MS in Molecular Biology, Chemistry Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related field
Prospective candidates with an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences or related fields are encouraged to apply.
Prior work experience in a molecular biology lab, handling mice, and excellent communication skills are a plus.
The person in this position must possess a strong work ethic and fantastic communication skills. The Yamanaka lab is located at the Gladstone Institutes/UCSF Mission Bay, which offers access to cutting-edge technologies and a thriving community that celebrates diversity of values, backgrounds, and approaches to solving problems. Many previous RAs went to graduate or medical schools after Yamanaka lab.
Hiring Range:
Research Associate I- $25/hr-$29/hr
Research Associate II- $64K-$75K
