The CAD & Cartographic Technician is responsible for producing mapping deliverables used in the ShotLink scoring system as well as various outputs to PGA TOUR vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Geomatics or information systems or equivalent work experience with strong understanding of GIS principals

Minimum 3 years working in the geospatial industry with relevant experience in geography, geomatics, GIS, or remote sensing

Understanding of GIS principals/fundamentals

Understanding of remote sensing collection techniques

Experience in Autodesk AutoCAD Map 3D software, ESRI ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ESRI Portal, and GlobalMapper or similar elevation model editing/viewing software

Experience and/or training in geocoding, layer files, shapefiles, geodatabases, projections/coordinate systems, data analysis, spatial analysis, data conversion, data entry, and general cartographic skills

Working knowledge of the game of golf and golf course design/features

Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to translate complex spatial concepts into informative products

A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar Windows based software

Excellent communications skills (written, verbal and presentation)

Excellent organizational skills and a high-level of attention to detail

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

LiDAR post processing, aerial triangulation, orthorectification, DEM/DSM creation and editing

Produce digital and physical maps and reports from GIS, CAD, and other related data and software. Queries, formats, and produces hardcopy deliverables from GIS and/or CAD data information and software

Quality check and edit point clouds and digital elevation models to ensure accuracy

Assist in field work to gain an understanding of how the field team collects golf course mapping data

Perform regular implementation, processing, and quality control checks of GIS/CAD data and deliverables

Work with satellite and UAS imagery to produce CAD drawings and to aid in interpreting GIS data

Provide technical expertise and support to groups, personnel, and users in GIS and data creation efforts

Complete special requests for various groups by utilizing existing data, analyzing results, and produce 2D, 3D drawings and models, reports, maps, and supporting documentation.
