Overview

Quincy Medical Group (QMG) has an exciting opportunity for a  Medical Assistant - Cardiology  to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional healthcare services and patient care management. Your responsibilities will include assisting providers with medical tasks and office duties, ensuring the smooth flow of operations within our clinics.

Responsibilities

In this dynamic role, you'll be responsible for escorting patients to examination rooms, ensuring they're prepared for their exams, and accurately recording vital signs and patient information. You'll assist providers during examinations, treatments, and procedures, administering medications and injections under their supervision. Coordinating referral appointments, medication refills, and other patient needs will be part of your daily tasks, along with managing incoming and outgoing calls to ensure precise communication of patient information.

Additionally, you'll schedule ancillary tests and procedures as directed, and promptly communicate test results and follow-up instructions to patients. Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the office and medical equipment will be essential, while also serving as a patient coach, offering support and care coordination.

This position is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. There may be occasional requirements to cover shifts beyond regular hours, depending on departmental needs.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need a high school diploma or GED, with one to two years of previous related experience in a clinical setting preferred, such as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Patient Care Assistant (PCA), or Medical Assistant (MA). Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members. A solid understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is essential. Adaptability and professionalism, as well as the ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team, are also crucial.
