Material Coordinator

Position Summary

This position acts as liaison between production floor and the material cage. Oversees cycle-counting and reconciles any issues with overages and shortages of raw material. Ensures raw material is issued to correct jobs and delivered to floor according to production schedule. Must be able to meet production schedule according to the standard of safety, quality, schedule and cost.

Principle Responsibilities

Responsible for tracking attendance for the material cage employees.Performs all duties of a material clerk.Resolves issues with receipt and issuing of stock.Works closely with accounting to make sure all incoming product and material has been received and entered in the computer.Assists production floor with scheduling material to production jobs.

Qualification Requirements

Credentials/Experience:

One year certificate from a college or technical school; one year experience in material handling or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.Must work with a high rate of accuracy.Ability to provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skills.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Proficient with the manufacturing software system (Vantage).Certified as forklift operator.Ability to comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures and report all unsafe activities to immediate supervisor.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee could be required to stand. The employee could be required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee could occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job could include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
