Description
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate Registered Nurse to manage IVF Coordination. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Performs general nursing care to patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination and testing of patients.
Observes, records and reports patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians. Dispenses medication as directed.
Ability to schedule basic monitoring appointments, treatments, and procedures. Assessment and triage of patients in emergency situations. Arranges for patient testing and admission.
New patient appointments: greets patients, screens for appropriate information, prepare patients for physical exam, new patient teaching material reviewed, appropriate lab requisitions filled out, follow-up appointments scheduled, explains tests, and instructs patients regarding collection of samples and answers questions pertaining to infertility work-up and protocols.
Surgery scheduling
Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and pertinent information. Assessment of laboratory and test results for normal and abnormal ranges. Reviews all labs and tests with physicians and informs patients of results. Documents accurate and pertinent information including phone conversations with patients, questions asked and answered, prescriptions called to the pharmacy and reportable labs and tests.
Responsible for all laboratory related functions: opening and closing of lab, preparing intrauterine insemination specimens, cleaning of instruments and machines, stocking of supplies, properly disposing of bio-hazardous waste, performing urine and hgb tests, proper refrigeration of all blood work and cultures.
Responds and triages incoming patient phone calls.
Instructs patients and families regarding medications, treatments and protocols as prescribed by the physician.
Hours: Monday-Friday: 7:00am-4:00pm. Weekend rotation approx. once every 4 - 5 weeks and occasional holidays will be required.
This position will be performed at 2 offices: Aspire Fertility Austin, 911 W. 38th St., Suite 402, Austin, TX 78705 and Aspire Domain, 2200 Park Bend Drive, Bldg 1, Suite 402, Austin, TX 78758
Education and Experience:Possession of a State Registered Nurse license - valid in Texas
at least 1 year of IVF experience strongly preferred.Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
