Posting Number SP004455P Position Title SSS-TRIO Web Communications and Event Specialist Division/College Vice Provost for Strategic Enrollment Management Department Academic Support Programs Location Moscow Posting Context Statement Position Overview Reporting to the Associate Director for Student Support Services (SSS-TRIO), the Web, Communications, and Events Specialist is responsible for coordinating and implementing promotional and marketing campaigns for all unit-sponsored services, programs and events. In addition, the Specialist drafts newsletters and other strategic communications to students and the campus community; collaborates with the Associate Director and Vandal Success Strategic Initiatives to develop and maintain content on the unit and department website and social media sites; and assists in designing and creating promotional materials. The specialist is also responsible for planning, organizing, and executing all SSS-TRIO events, including assisting with events and activities associated with the SSS-TRIO Peer Mentor Program. Unit URL Position Qualifications Required Experience One year experience in public relations, marketing, event planning, or advertising Experience designing marketing/promotional material using desktop publishing software Experience with web page development and maintenance Experience with using social media to promote and increase awareness Required Education High School Diploma or equivalent Required Other Ability to work non-standard business hours Additional Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or related fieldExperience: Past experience with assessment of outcomes Past event planning experience Experience working in a collaborative, team environment Skills/Ability to: Strong organizational and project management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and editing skills Ability to professionally represent the Vandal Success department and UAS/ASP units
