We provide inperson tutoringservices to students from elementary through high school in variousmath subjects.As a private tutor you will workoneonone inperson with a student to provide academic support inMath.
JobResponsibilities:
  • Provideoneonone or small group tutoring in Math subjects including but notlimitedto:
    • BasicMath
    • PreAlgebra& AlgebraI/II
    • Geometry
    • PreCalculus&Calculus
    • Statistics
    • SAT/ACTMathPreparation
  • Assessstudents strengths and weaknesses to create personalized lessonsplans.
  • Helpstudents develop problemsolving skills and boost their confidenceinMath.
  • Maintaina flexible schedule offering tutoring sessions based on studentsneeds.
  • Communicateprogress and challenges with parents/guardians asneeded.

  • MUSTBE eligible to work in the United States of America and have avalid Social Security Number; (Note: We do not sponsor visas atthistime).

  • MUSTBE Committed to tutoring for the duration of the assignment with apossibility ofextension.

  • MUSTBe able to pass abackgroundcheck.

  • Greatinterpersonal skills with the ability to adapt and relate tostudents from diversebackgrounds.

  • MUSTHAVE your own computer and be technologically savvy (email textingSlack GoogleSheets/Excel).

  • MUSTHAVE a selfless commitment to making a difference in students lives(we work with migrant students and you must have compassion for allstudentsregardless).

  • Mustbe willing to travel to various areas around Houston Texas and meetpossibly in a public area (library coffee shop daycare etc.) totutor inperson.

QualificationsandSkills:

  • Strongcommunication and interpersonal skills with the ability to workwith students of diverse backgrounds and learningstyles.

  • Strongorganizational and time managementskills.

  • Mustbe able to work independently and as part of ateam.

  • Beeligible to work in the United States of America and have thedocumentation to proveit.

  • Haveyour own computer and be technologically savvy (email texting SlackGoogleSheets/Excel).

  • Reliabletransportation for travel to various inperson tutoring locationswithinHouston.

Requirements

SKILLSKNOWLEDGE ANDEXPERTISE:

  • Acollege student with at least 60 hours of credithours

  • Acollege graduate (Bachelor s Master s Doctoral degreeholder)

  • Acertified teacher with SBEC or other teacher state licensurecertification

  • Aretired teacher with SBEC or other teacher state licensurecertification

  • Skilledin Math (All grade levels are welcome toapply)
