POSITION TITLE: Referrals - Dental

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Under the direct supervision of the Dental Practice Manager, the incumbent is responsible for processing dental referrals.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  1. High School Diploma/GED.
  2. Dental knowledge preferred.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing required.
  4. Must have good organizational and prioritization skills.
  5. Ability to network with other agencies and private providers.
  6. Strong working knowledge of computer operations.
  7. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:


  1. Process all referrals for specialty consultation and diagnostic testing.
  2. Monitors all dental buckets and assigns referrals accordingly
  3. Coordinate client referrals.
  4. Communicate with outside agencies and providers for this purpose.
  5. Maintain automated and manual records and documentation on referrals.
  6. Identify problems in referrals and inform direct supervisor for corrective action.
  7. Instruct clients on referrals and follow-up as required.
  8. Provide training for computer software for clinical systems including the referral and appointments.
  9. Other duties as assigned.
