POSITION TITLE: Referrals - Dental

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Under the direct supervision of the Dental Practice Manager, the incumbent is responsible for processing dental referrals.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

* High School Diploma/GED.
* Dental knowledge preferred.
* Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing required.
* Must have good organizational and prioritization skills.
* Ability to network with other agencies and private providers.
* Strong working knowledge of computer operations.
* Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

* Process all referrals for specialty consultation and diagnostic testing.
* Monitors all dental buckets and assigns referrals accordingly
* Coordinate client referrals.
* Communicate with outside agencies and providers for this purpose.
* Maintain automated and manual records and documentation on referrals.
* Identify problems in referrals and inform direct supervisor for corrective action.
* Instruct clients on referrals and follow-up as required.
* Provide training for computer software for clinical systems including the referral and appointments.
* Other duties as assigned.
