Clinical Psychologist Faculty Position Available at the World Trade Center Health Program at the Icahn School of Medicine, Mount Sinai.

The World Trade Center (WTC) Mental Health Program at the Icahn School of Medicine, Mount Sinai is recruiting a full-time clinical psychologist to treat 9/11 responders. We are seeking a skilled clinical psychologist to join our team of dedicated professionals who treat responders with enduring psychological symptoms related to their WTC traumatic exposure. The relatively high prevalence of psychiatric conditions and associated medical comorbidities many years after September 11th underscores the pressing need to address responders' increasingly complex healthcare needs. In October of 2022, the CDC awarded $340 million in new funding to Mt. Sinai's WTC Health Program Clinical Center of Excellence to support expanded services.

Our interdisciplinary team of psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers are committed to caring for police officers, construction workers, utilities workers, and volunteers who participated in the rescue, recovery and restoration efforts following 9/11. We offer evidence-based mental health treatment using a variety of modalities including cognitive-behavioral, dialectic behavioral, and psychodynamic treatments. Responsibilities of the position include individual and group psychotherapy, psychological assessments, diagnostic evaluations, supervision of psychology trainees, and participation in didactics, case conferences, and program development initiatives. This position is fully outpatient with no night or weekend work.

The Mount Sinai Health System is internationally acclaimed for its excellence in research, patient care, and education. The position includes faculty appointment commensurate with experience in the Department of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. There are opportunities to participate in clinical research and medical school teaching.

Conducting specific psychological testing and extended psychological assessments for patients who require diagnostic clarification, a determination whether current presentation is related to WTC exposure, and to aid in treatment recommendations. Testing process includes conducting a psychiatric interview, administering various psychological measures, scoring and interpreting measures, and writing an integrated final report.

Collaborating with other members of the World Trade Center Mental Health team, including psychiatrists, psychologists and social workers as needed for patient care.
