Job Summary

Aptive Resources is seeking dedicated and experienced Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Registered Nurses to support the VA Medical Facility in Milwaukee, WI. The SCI RN will play a critical role in providing comprehensive nursing care to veterans with spinal cord injuries. This position requires a compassionate and skilled nurse who can effectively work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to individuals with spinal cord injuries, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and best practices. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, therapists, and social workers to ensure holistic care for patients. Educate patients and their families about spinal cord injuries, treatment options, and management strategies. Monitor and document patient progress, making adjustments to care plans as necessary. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines. Support patients in achieving their maximum level of independence and quality of life.

Minimum Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license . Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience working with spinal cord injury patients. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality care to veterans. Ability to obtain any required government background check
