This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Early Career Environmental Scientist/ Ecologist for our Norcross, GA office. The following location will also be considered: Kennesaw, GA and Marietta, GA. Be involved in projects with our Earth & Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. 

Your Impact

Jurisdictional wetland delineation Environmental oversight during construction to ensure compliance with permit conditionsThreatened and endangered species surveysAssessment of potential impacts to wetlands and/or protected speciesEntrainment sampling at power generation facilities in support of CWA 316(b) complianceSupport for preparation of applications for GA Environmental Protection Division and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permitsWetland and stream mitigation monitoringLocal and/or national travel (up to 50% of the time) with possible short-term or long-term assignments at project sites

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Environmental Science, Wildlife Ecology, Wetland Ecology, Fisheries, or related field0-1 years of relevant work experience.Familiarity with Georgia/Southeastern U.S. wetland ecology, wildlife ecology, and/or botanyFluency in regulatory agency guidelines in the state of Georgia (GA EPD, GA DNR, USACE, USFWS)GIS experienceCapable of producing clear and concise written technical documentsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills requiredComfortable with managing a workflow that includes field work and completion of reporting tasks for multiple projects in a timely mannerCapable of working independently and effectively with a team, both office and field settingsSelf-motivated, reliable and dedicated individual

Preferred Qualifications:

A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations.Experience Operating of 4x4 vehicles and boats.
