The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing psychological services in a school setting and a commitment to supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students. This full-time position is for the upcoming school year, with the possibility of contract renewal based on performance and school needs.

As a School Psychologist with Soliant Health, you will play a crucial role in promoting the mental health and educational success of students. Your expertise in psychological assessment, intervention, and consultation will be instrumental in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment. You will collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and school staff to identify and address students' needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and evaluations to identify students' cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs. Utilize a variety of assessment tools and techniques to gather data and interpret results. Provide detailed reports and recommendations based on findings.
  • Intervention and Support: Develop and implement evidence-based interventions and strategies to address students' academic, social, and emotional needs. Provide individual and group counseling to support students in overcoming challenges and developing coping skills.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other school staff to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management plans. Offer consultation and support to staff on effective classroom management techniques and strategies to enhance student engagement and learning.
  • Crisis Intervention: Respond to crisis situations and provide immediate support and intervention to students in distress. Develop and implement crisis response plans and provide training to staff on crisis management and prevention.
  • Program Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide programs aimed at promoting a positive school climate and fostering students' social-emotional development. Participate in initiatives to address issues such as bullying, substance abuse, and mental health awareness.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in school psychology through ongoing professional development and continuing education. Participate in training sessions, workshops, and conferences to enhance your knowledge and skills.
  • Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential records of student assessments, interventions, and progress. Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical guidelines related to student privacy and data management.
  • Advocacy and Support: Advocate for the needs and rights of students, ensuring they receive appropriate services and accommodations. Provide support and resources to parents and families to help them navigate the educational system and access necessary services.

Qualifications:

  • Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology.
  • Valid Illinois state certification as a School Psychologist.
  • Experience working in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of psychological assessment tools and intervention strategies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and manage multiple responsibilities.
