Senior Prospect Research Analyst

Job Summary:

Reporting to the AVP, Advancement Services, the Senior Prospect Research Analyst is responsible for identifying and assessing prospects capable of contributing major gifts to Regis University. The position supports pipeline development using industry best practices and proven techniques and methodologies to ensure fundraising priorities have highly populated, strategic, accessible, and well-organized prospect portfolios. This position will also be responsible for writing biographies and briefings for campus leadership to support philanthropic gift discussions. Regular engagement with team members and senior leadership in collaborative strategic planning activities is of paramount importance.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential

Prospect Research and Management

Collect, analyzes, and synthesize information from internal and external sources to assess biographical data, philanthropic tendencies, giving propensity and connections to Regis

Proactively identify, research, and qualify existing donors and prospects to support the portfolios of major gift officers (MGOs)

Generate donor profiles and briefings for events and meetings to assist MGOs in qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship

Prepare reports and advise the advancement team on trends and other analyses to support development events, fundraising strategies, solicitations, and special projects

Manage, develop, implement, and coordinate methodologies for prospect research, criteria for analysis and review, and systems for distribution of reports and data analysis

Help develop best practices and provide training materials related to prospect management policies and procedures

Work in coordination with the AVPs of University Advancement and Advancement Services to develop new reporting tools and to continuously improve existing tools to meet business needs

Work with leadership and consultants on priority fundraising initiatives

Implement new research techniques and keep current of industry standards as defined by Apra, AASP, CASE, and other advancement professional organizations

Pipeline Development

Manage infrastructure and systematize process to continually review and prioritize pooled prospects in order to maintain prospect movement through the pipeline

Serve as consultant and subject matter expert to MGOs with a focus on the optimization of portfolios through strategic portfolio review sessions

Develop ongoing analysis to prioritize and refine pools of donors and prospects interested in

Develop and drive moves management and proposal tracking system and process in database.

Partner to recommend and assign prospects to relationship managers and work to refresh and manage existing portfolios

Records Management

Input data into the CRM with the highest standards of accuracy and integrity with a focus on prospect research-related data

Collaborate with AVP and stakeholders to design and create tools to optimize prospect identification efforts

Create, develop, implement, and continuously improve prospect management system within CRM (Salesforce)

Collaborate with Advancement Services team to import 3rd party vendor data to update wealth screening and demographic information

Work with Advancement Services to ensure complete, accurate, and timely updates of information in CRM related to biographical, business, research notes, and prospect management data

Continuing Education & Skill Development

Identify opportunities for skill development and continuing education

Maintain active membership and engagement with relevant professional development associations

Attend educational webinars and conferences as appropriate

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

Three to five years relevant experience and/or training, in advancement services functions focused on conducting prospect development

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education or equivalent professional experience. (The educational requirement may be substituted with professional experience on a year-for-year basis)

Experience:

Proficiency and experience with computers required with a strong understanding of Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

Minimum 2 years experience with ResearchPoint, iWave,Windfall, or other wealth analytics systems

Experience using query tools to extract data from databases

Demonstrate ability to become fluent with CRM systems. Experience with Salesforce NPSP is desired.
