Job Description:

Commodity Analysts work to generate commodity investment ideas based on fundamental research and data analysis. A successful analyst will see their ideas put into the trade book.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate investment ideas based on fundamental research and data analysis
  • Create, develop, and expand analytics tools and processes
  • Stay on top of market research and insights
  • Model commodity data for specific markets and produce ad hoc analysis based on short and long-term market developments
  • Evaluate and improve data quality received from a variety of sources
  • Monitor and build Verus’ supply and demand models


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Prior commodities experience, 4+ years. Agriculture a plus
  • Master’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science or other quantitative fields
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, ability to multi-task
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Understanding of financial modeling, specifically using Excel, VBA, Python, and/or R
  • Thrives in fast-paced constantly evolving environments
  • Ability to form theses and conclusions from partial, incomplete, and disparate data
  • Fluent in English
