The Office of Corporate Communications is responsible for planning and implementing proactive communications on major initiatives; working to promote positive, accurate and fair media coverage of FINRA; and promoting an engaged and well-informed workforce, among other activities. The Project Manager supports the leaders and members of the Communications team to advance business unit goals by managing medium to large-scale projects through complete life cycle.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop medium to high large-scale project plans that span across multiple functions and/or teams, supporting documentation, and project artifacts with minimal supervision.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for business leads and sponsors.
  • Collaborate with business to review and prioritize business requirements.
  • Maintain relationship with project sponsors, project leads, and functional leaders. Informs stakeholders of project timeline and key deliverables.
  • Develop supporting documentation and project artifacts.
  • Develop status plans across assigned project team with minimal supervision.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, highlight reports, exception reports and exception plans.
  • Develop change management plan for implementation.
  • Organize, lead, and facilitate project meetings.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance project management best practices and implement them tailored to needs of stakeholders.
  • Escalation-point for Corporate Communications Leadership and Director of Project Management for issues, risks, and negotiations.
  • Report upon project status, identify risks/issues and decision points to Corporate Communications Leadership and Director of Project Management.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of project management & cross-functional team management.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, and minimum 7 years of project management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge and technical skills related to project management. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from internal constituents in a timely, professional manner.
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize effectively, work multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines for a wide variety of assignments.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and complete assignments within budgeted time frames.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows/MS Office Suite applications including Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
  • AP style familiarity and ability to work within FINRA’s style and branding guidelines. 
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to exercise careful judgment and discretion with respect to strategic and confidential material.
  • Experience in and/or working knowledge of Communications function preferred.
  • Experience managing digital/web related projects preferred.
  • Professional certification in Project Management such as Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
  • Professional certification in Change Management such as Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP) preferred.

In addition to location, actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s skill set, level of experience, education, and internal peer compensation comparisons.

California: Minimum Salary $106,400, Maximum Salary $200,200

Washington, DC: Minimum Salary $106,400 Maximum Salary $191,800

Colorado/Hawaii: Minimum Salary $92,500, Maximum Salary $166,800

New York, NY: Minimum Salary $111,000, Maximum Salary $200,200

Washington State: Minimum Salary $92,500, Maximum Salary $191,800
