Position Summary:

The Grounds Crew/Operator, under the supervision of the course superintendent, assistant superintendent, and foreman performs work involving the use of hand tools, small engine equipment, tractors, and other maintenance equipment .

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Mow greens, fairways, tees boxes, and roughs. Provide sand trap maintenance if needed. May operate smaller equipment as directed by his/her supervisor. Ensure that the equipment cooling system is working at all times; refills fuel and oil daily; cleans equipment daily, and reports equipment problems or failures to Equipment Manager immediately. Provides basic preventive maintenance on equipment as directed by the Equipment Manager. This position demands accuracy, honesty, integrity and the ability to work within the Christian mission of Campbell University. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Education/Experience: 

1 to 2 years of experience preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of safe, efficient mechanical operation of tractors and other motorized equipment. Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with golfers, faculty, staff, students, and university officials. Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people. Detail-oriented and willing to work in a changing environment. Upon hire, have a broad knowledge of, and abide by, Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to; Title IX and FERPA guidelines.
