SUMMARY

The Production Planner is responsible for creating and maintaining a valid production schedule by effectively balancing supply and demand for product to fulfill all customer requirements and support the plan.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Maintains a valid production schedule that is aligned with production capacity planning and supply availability.

 

  1. Reviews production schedules and material receipts to optimize utilization and efficiency of all resources.

 

  1. Identify and resolve conflicts with respect to material and capacity availability and order-promising integrity. Manage communications/escalations when demand cannot be met and recommend alternatives on how the requested demand could be satisfied.

 

  1. Work closely with the manufacturing and engineering leader(s) to ensure all capacity and material constraints are managed to maximize the utilization of manufacturing resources as cost-effectively as possible.

 

  1. Manages communication of all production commitments to the stakeholders within the sales, customer service, logistics and engineering groups. Maintains all metrics for areas of responsibility.

 

  1. Maintains scheduled and manufactured item attributes, such as lead times, stocking levels and GOP rules.

 

  1. Manages WIP variances at the work order level and works with manufacturing, production, and inventory to ensure timely and accurate work management.

 

  1. Review and coordinate all customer change order requests, including outside warehouses and orders shipping from overseas facilities.

 

  1. Provides support to business projects as needed.

 

 

 

TALENTS and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations, scheduling and purchasing procedures, MRP systems and their processes, and supply chain best practices.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • 2+ years of supply chain experience or manufacturing experience in an MRP environment.

 

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, and REGISTRATIONS

  • A.S. degree or higher in business, management, or supply chain required. Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • APICS certification or ongoing education preferred.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment. The candidate should be able to perform the job tasks with or without reasonable accommodations.
