Job Overview: Serves as principal in the absence of the regular principal or assistant principal. Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the student body and deals with special cases, as necessary.

Job functions:

  • Assists the principal in the overall administration of the day-to-day operations of the school and keeps the principal informed.
  • Performs such record-keeping functions as the principal may direct.
  • Supervises teachers and departments as assigned by the principal.
  • Performs such other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the principal may from time to time direct.
  • Understands regular Education and Special Education laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Notifies and collaborates with parents to resolve student/student and student/teacher issues.
  • Uses data sources, such as, formative, and summative assessments and communicate the data to the school community.
  • Uses data to facilitate change and communicate data driven decisions to all stakeholders.
  • Reviews, revises and implements the school crisis management plan.
  • Possesses confidence in using technology as an administrative, student management, instructional, and communication tool.
  • Works with administrators to develop data driven professional development.
  • May be required to learn and implement the new TEAM evaluation system.?Familiar with state reports, extended contracts, Title II funding, School Improvement Plan, school report card, TVAAS website.
  • Knowledgeable in master scheduling, teacher certification, and course codes.
  • Creates a culture of professional learning communities through collaboration to produce continuous school improvement and student achievement.
  • Follows laws set forth by the State/Federal Government and follows policies/procedures set forth by the Maury County Board of Education; and
  • Other duties as assigned by principal.
