JOB SUMMARY:

Essexville-Hampton Public Schools is seeking a dynamic, energetic Mathematics teacher who maintains a positive learning environment, holds high academic expectations, and creates a student-centered classroom. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Provide instruction to a class, groups of students, and individual students using a variety of effective instructional strategies  Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior and creates a safe, orderly, and effective environment for learning Motivates students to develop an interest in and an appreciation of Mathematics ● Develops clear and concise instructional lesson plans and organizes class time to provide a balance of instruction, practice, and assessment Provides individual and small group instruction and adapts the curriculum to the needs of students with varying abilities Evaluates student learning and understanding and prepares regular progress reports Conferences regularly with parents/guardians regarding behavior observations and the performance of students Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems Maintains thorough records for each student Selects, requisitions, and maintains books, instructional materials, and instructional aids Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Michigan Teaching Certificate and meet Highly Qualified Teacher Status ● Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning Work with or understand Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Work with or understand Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) ● Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies Participate in department, school, district, and parent meetings Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds.

SALARY: Per EHEA Contract
