Hazardous Material Supervisor - Fort Rucker, AL-NORTH (FRAL-NORTH) – Hazardous Waste (HAZWASTE)
Manage the central ninety ()-day Hazardous Waste accumulation area in accordance with all applicable regulations and Installation Agreements and applicable DoD policy and directives. Define job roles and responsibilities, determine work to be done, develop assignments, assign work and ensure completed. Establish and enforce work rules and procedures. Set and approve work schedules. Develop training plans and approve course attendance, motivate personnel. Issue formal evaluations, recommend appropriate level of discipline, resolve grievances, and recommend personnel for hire or promotion.
Provide supply support services operations to include Hazardous Material Supply Operations (HMSO)..All task are completed in accordance with the Performance Work Statement. Work is conducted on Fort Rucker, but could include work at off-post locations.
HMSO Tasks include Requisition, receipt, handle, store, inventory, process, redistribute, issue, turn-in, dispose, report, maintain transaction files, HMSO operations and operate the EESOH-MIS. Perform inventories, implement causative research, complete/distribute adjustment documents, provide technical assistance and management support tracking and controlling all hazardous materials that are procured, received, stored and issued at the Installation.
Requirements
Three to five years of experience in the military supply field with two year of experience with Hazardous Materials Must have Enterprise Environmental Safety and Occupational Health – Management Information System (EESOH-MIS) certification Familiar with the chemistry of hazardous materials to prevent improper storage and exercise proper waste segregation Familiar with Command Supply Discipline Program (CSDP), AR -2, AR -5, and DA PAM -2-1. Must be trained and certified in accordance with requirements of CFR Part 0., CFR Part 5.0, CFR Part . and CFR Part . Practical knowledge of a wide range of established supply management and hazardous material policies and processes, and the ability to apply a variety of common methods and techniques to analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of these various supply programs Ability to identify needed remedies or improvements Skilled in effective oral and written communication to explain regulations, update policy and instructions, conduct investigations, provide program information to management and customers, and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the organization's supply operation. Guidelines consist of supply, procurement and automation manuals and regulations as well as applicable Department of Defense, Department of the Army, Major Command and local instructions and policies. Guidelines are numerous and not always directly applicable. Employee must use considerable judgment, based on extensive past training experience in researching and applying regulations in order to determine the applicability and relationship between guidelines and program goals. The employee chooses, interprets and adapts available guidelines (that often contain conflicting or ambiguous instructions) to specific assignments Other training and certification could include OSHA Hazard Communication, RCRA Hazardous Waste Handling and Transportation of Hazardous Materials/Waste, Fort Rucker Environmental Compliance (ECO) course, Fort Rucker Environmental Management System (EMS) General Awareness, Fort Rucker Security Briefing and Fort Rucker new employee training-
