Responds to the presence or potential release of hazardous material as part of a Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) team.
Performs daily inspections and preventive maintenance on fire apparatuses and equipment.
Ensures that fire apparatuses and equipment are operational and notifies Crew Chief and/or supervisor of any deficiencies requiring immediate repair.
Must respond to, and assist the injured by immobilizing for safe transport, using direct pressure and tourniquets to stop bleeding, check windpipe for obstructions, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Receives emergency alarms or reports of emergencies and initiates proper action.
Complies with appropriate confined space entry/gas fire engineering operations requirements and procedures.
Performs as a crew member in actual firefighting activities.
