Title: Kitchen Assistant

Reports to: Early Childhood Education Director and Kitchen Manager

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5:30pm

Status: Full-time hourly, non-exempt

Exciting opportunity to join our team as a Kitchen Assistant at Binghamton JCC The Assistant Teacher is instrumental in managing the day-to-day operations of our kitchen facility. We are seeking a reliable, energetic, and compassionate individual who is dedicated to help our kitchen run smoothly and successfully

Minimum Qualifications:

Requirements

Basic cooking, baking and measuring skills The ability to lift and transport food & dish filled buckets between floors, as well as put stock away The ability to remain standing and traveling throughout the building for the overall majority of the shift An attention to detail concerning: child allergies, Kosher kitchen regulations, overall cleanliness and time management Washing pots, pans and multiple dishes throughout the day Ability to assist in classrooms and day to day functions as needed.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age. Minimum of a high school diploma. Experience working in a kitchen preferred Willingness to wash and sanitize dishes Ability to work well with young children, teachers, administration, and parents. Patience, compassion, and a willingness to learn Ability to carry food up and down a flight of stairs. Ability to sit on low chairs and on the floor to communicate with children at eye level.

**$15/ hour with a 30-35 hour work week.
