Senior Director, Chief of Staff, Office of the CIO

Role Overview:

You will have a leadership role in the transformation of the global CIO organization, responsible for the coordination of communications, ensuring alignment with functional and regional stakeholders, organizational effectiveness programs and leading activities out of the Office of the Global CIO. You will report to the Global Chief Information Officer and be a senior member of the CIO staff.

Your role will be to oversee the administrative, operational, and people operations of the global CIO organization, enhancing culture, managing conflicts, and solving problems. You will act as a consultant to the Chief Information Officer, offering recommendations on administration, operations, process improvement, staffing, and measuring key objectives and results.

On a typical day you will:

You will be responsible for execution of the operational monitoring and communications management of of the CIO organization; aligned with Otis Digital Technologies strategic, operational, and organizational direction.

Ensuring review and oversight of strategic, cross-functional CIO initiatives related to Digital Technology transformation programs Develop and manage organizational operations at the Global CIO level, including facilitating and organizing agenda and content for key meetings (town hall, operational staff meeting, etc.) Collaborate to optimize processes and drive organizational efficiency, including establishment of performance, financial transparency and other technology-specific KPI’s for the Global CIO organization Compose exec-level communications including data-driven recommendations to support executive and key stakeholder decisions Support financial planning and tracking activities in collaboration with the Otis CDO Operations team Serve as escalation point for resolving issues across multiple portfolios Champion globally inclusive cultural initiatives focused on promoting Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

Operations Management

Support effective collaboration within CIO leadership team through organization of regular Staff Meetings, and strategy sessions and leadership reviews/offsite meetings as needed.

Current collaboration structures that the Chief of Staff is responsible for consists of: 

Weekly CIO Staff Meetings with CIO direct reports and every other week with business partners in Finance, Supply Chain and HR, focused on timely topics of both tactical / operation importance and updates on strategic initiatives Monthly Regional Business Relationship Management with regional, functional and vendor partners Ad-hoc meetings & quarterly strategy sessions to support strategic initiatives and planning including support of CTO strategy sessions

Communications

Partner with Communications business partner to direct internal and external department communications in line with strategic communications objectives.

Current communications objectives include global alignment in global CIO organization, effective change communications, recognition, and DT strategic imperatives.

Current communications under the Chief of Staff’s responsibility include: 

Support for Global DT Town Halls  Quarterly CIO All Hands Meetings  Quarterly CIO events and communication channels like Viva Engage  Internal and external news pieces as needed and relevant to support objectives 

Responsibility for these communications entails: 

Working as a member of the DT Change Communications Advisory board, identifying strategic objectives for each communication to direct content, tone, flow of topics, and connection / fit into other communications and activities ongoing in the DT organization 

Drafting materials, often in partnership with CDO Management Office, for review and refinement in partnership with CIO, CDO Management Office. 

In the case of Global DT Town Halls and other DT-wide meetings / events, responsible also for supporting CDO Management Office to ensure seamless execution and delivery.

Current communications channels under the Chief of Staff’s responsibility include: 

Global Digital Technology Hub Site Office of the CIO SharePoint Site Global Digital Technology CIO Viva Engage Responsibility for these channels entails: Partnerships with CDO Management Office in leveraging channels appropriately to support delivery of key messages and change communications from CDO, CIO and DT leadership  Ensuring information about our organization is up-to-date and reflects the current state of our DT, CIO and Otis-wide organization

What You Will Need to be Successful:

Strong leadership / executive presence, organizational skills and a passion for problem solving Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to develop and deliver executive level summaries Ability to establish and build strong relationships and partnerships across cross-functional teams, with focus on collaboration and ability to influence stakeholders to drive to common goals Comfortable with, and an advocate for, ongoing change. Drives structure while also pivoting quickly based on changing business demands or environments Experience taking complex and ambiguous information and refining it into meaningful content and clear action plans Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills (e.g., identifying trends, patterns, and root cause analysis using a diverse toolkit to address the root cause) Ability to influence, organize, and direct people across various seniorities, teams, and departments Solutions-driven self-starter with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and work well under pressure and tight deadlines Commitment to diversity, ethical, accountable, and transparent leadership

Skills & Experience

10+ years of progressive experience within DT function and experience working closely with members of the leadership team  Previous experience managing managing cross functional initiatives across global teams and multiple time zones Experience managing, maintaining and communicating budgets a plus

Some travel may be required to support workshops, global meetings or program initiatives
