Summary of the Quality Systems Engineer:
Work on the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality tools and systems. These responsibilities include but are not limited to the International Operating System (IOS), IATF-16949, analysis, and improvements for management reporting systems, and standardization of quality systems within the plant.


Responsibilities of the Quality Systems Engineer:

  • Certified internal auditor who is responsible for coordinating all internal and external audits per IATF-16949 and IOS standards. This includes the coordination for the treatment of the non-conformities to properly solve the findings

  • Manages, coordinates, updates, and releases all internal documents per IOS requirements

  • Ensure and support the plant in implementation of the IOS processes to satisfy the requirements for the different international standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9000, ISO 14000, ISO 45000, ISO 27000, ISO 50000) and the customer specific requirements

  • Support and participate on the continuing improvement initiatives (8D's, control plan audit, reverse FMEA, etc.)

  • Manage, coordinates, and perform internal audits at plant (System, Product, Process, PSO 1&2, and LPA's)

  • Train, support, and ensure the respect of the application of the quality tools at the plant

  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives

  • Perform corrective actions for some of the problem-solving actions defined


Requirements of the Quality Systems Engineer:

  • B.S. degree in Quality, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in Quality
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in Automotive
  • Problem solving 8D's, A3, etc.
  • Core tools (FMEA-CP, APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC) and LPA
  • IATF 16949, ISO 9000 standard certified auditor
  • Quality experience in manufacturing preferably automotive
  • Advanced Problem Solving DMAIC, Red X, DOE, etc. preferred
  • Reverse FMEA, program/development management (quality) preferred
  • Must be willing to travel
