This is a remote position.
The Web Developer is responsible for designing, coding, and modifying websites, from layout to function, according to the organization’s specifications. The role involves working closely with designers, project managers, and other developers to create visually appealing, user-friendly, and responsive websites and applications. The position requires a strong understanding of front-end and back-end development, web standards, and best practices, along with proficiency in programming languages, frameworks, and tools used in web development.
- Develop and maintain websites and web applications, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and user experience.
- Work independently with minimal supervision to write clean, well-documented, and efficient code using programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
- Assist in the creation of website layouts and user interfaces using standard HTML/CSS practices and integrate data from various back-end services and databases.
- Collaborate with designers and other team members to translate design mockups into functional and interactive web pages.
- Test and debug websites across different browsers, platforms, and devices, ensuring compatibility and resolving any issues that arise.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation for web projects, including code comments, change logs, and system configurations.
- Optimize websites for speed, performance, and search engine optimization (SEO), implementing best practices for faster load times and enhanced usability.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, web technologies, and programming languages; participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills.
- Assist in the deployment of new web features and updates, ensuring all changes are thoroughly tested and aligned with project requirements.
- Support the team in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during development or after deployment, providing quick and effective solutions.
- Contribute to project planning and estimation efforts, offering input on timelines, resources, and potential technical challenges.
- Gain proficiency in various development tools, including version control systems (e.g., Git), IDEs, and debugging tools.
- Engage in continuous improvement activities, such as refactoring code, enhancing website performance, and implementing security measures.
- Provide input on improving web development processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency and enhance quality.
- Ensure that websites meet the organization’s coding standards, are mobile-friendly, and adhere to best practices for accessibility and usability.
- Collaborate with the QA team to identify and address potential vulnerabilities, ensuring high-quality and secure web delivery.
- Assist with other web development tasks as needed, including maintaining development environments and supporting end-users with technical issues.
- Contribute to internal tools, scripts, and automation that improve developer productivity and streamline workflows.
