Washington, United States Urban Land Institute Full time

POSITION SUMMARY

The Homeless to Housed (H2H) initiative of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) is seeking a Senior Manager to support the Senior Director in executing a work program that promotes real estate-driven solutions to end the U.S. housing and homelessness crisis. The ideal candidate for this position should have expertise in content strategy, member engagement, program evaluation, event coordination, and general program support.

H2H, launched in 2022 with the release of a pioneering report in the industry, aims to highlight and amplify real estate solutions that increase the supply of abundant, affordable, and high-quality interim and permanent supportive housing for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. H2H works to achieve this goal by engaging, informing, and inspiring ULI members and others (public, private, and philanthropic partners, and service providers) to think critically about the growing humanitarian and economic crisis of homelessness.

To reach this goal, H2H is organized around three main activities:

Education . H2H investigates and documents best practices and success stories that can inspire the commercial real estate industry. H2H develops case studies and resources that connect the technical know-how of commercial real estate with the expertise of providers of services for individuals experiencing homelessness.  Awareness . H2H amplifies the ability and responsibility of leaders in commercial real estate and finance to address homelessness and its root causes. H2H accomplishes this by leveraging all available ULI platforms and engaging strategic external partners.  Partnership . H2H partners with ULI District Councils to advance local technical assistance and research projects. This allows H2H to amplify replicable and innovative real estate-driven solutions to homelessness.

Homeless to Housed is part of ULI’s Terwilliger Center for Housing, whose mission is to ensure that everyone has a home that meets their needs at a price they can afford. The Center accomplishes this by documenting best practices in residential development and public policy and supporting ULI members and local communities in creating and sustaining a full spectrum of housing opportunities, particularly for low—and moderate-income households.

ULI is a research and education nonprofit organization focused on best practices in real estate development. Its mission is to shape the future of the built environment for transformative impact in communities worldwide. ULI is a member-driven organization with 47,000 members globally.
