TheRotating Equipment Engineeris responsible for engineering support and reliability improvementsfor rotating equipment in a plantenvironment.
JobDuties:
  • Developand implement failure modebased reliability strategies for criticalrotatingequipment
  • Analyzeequipment trends historical data and field data to develop andadjust reliability programs to maximize asset reliability andproduction availability at the optimum cost ofownership
  • Recommendand champion solutions as appropriate to maximize systemavailability
  • Applyengineering theory practices and principles to determine root causefailure analysis (RCFA) of equipment failures and performanceevaluations of rotating equipment and supportingsystems
  • Developand Implement Preventive maintenance routines and conditionmonitoring program for RotatingMachinery
  • Workclosely with production maintenance and service teams to understandfailure modes and effects and develop mitigation plans; prioritizeand develop action plans for our reliabilitycentered maintenancesystem
  • Providetechnical support in project development turnaround scopeidentification QA/QC installation commissioning startup and workactivities on all rotating equipment upgrades repairs and newinstallations
  • Applyreliability centered principles to ensure optimum engineeredsolutions on rotating equipment deficiencies and new equipmentselection
  • ReviewManagement of Change (MOC) requirements and ensure adherence to allProcess Safety Management (PSM)elements
  • Managethe Rotating Equipment Mechanical Integrity (MI) program through MIclassification preventative maintenance procedures and testingfrequencyrequirements
  • Providefield technical support to resolve rotating equipmentproblems
  • Periodicallycreate review and update rotating equipment procedures
  • Responsiblefor maintaining and updating equipment records and necessary spareparts.
  • Analyzeequipment trends historical data and field data to develop lifecycle cost optimization on various classes of rotatingequipment
  • Responsiblefor maintaining and updating equipment records and identifyingcritical necessary spare parts and capitalspares

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’sdegree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineeringpreferred)
  • 4 yearsof machinery engineering or rotating equipment engineering inpetrochemicals refining or utilityoperations
  • Knowledgeof reciprocating centrifugal and screw compressors API/ANSI pumpssteam turbines gas turbines electric motors fans blowersetc.
  • Familiaritywith machinery auxiliary systems such as lube oil seal oilhydraulics monitoring control and protectivesystems
  • Understandingof machinery vibration analysis including data collection andinterpretation. CAT II certificationpreferred
  • Excellentwritten and verbal communicationskills
  • Excellentproblemsolvingskills
  • Demonstratedability to manage multiple priorityitems.
  • Proficientin Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlooketc.)
  • Strongorganizationalskills
  • Abilityto work in a teamenvironment

  • Exposedto wet and/or humidconditions
  • Frequentlyworks near moving mechanicalparts
  • Occasionallywork in close proximity to chemical processes with toxic or causticchemicals airborne particles fumes extreme heat extreme coldvibration and electricalhazards
  • Abilityto wear and operate in all necessary Personal Protective Equipment(PPE) which includes fireant uniforms hard hats ear plugs safetyglasses goggles fall protection harnesses chemical exposure suitsandrespirators
