A DAY IN THE LIFE OF Clinical Specialist, Uveal Melanoma,

A typical day as Castle's Uveal Melanoma Clinical Specialist is dynamic, blending clinical expertise, sales, and strategic thinking. You'll start by reviewing your territory plan to prioritize outreach and meetings with physicians and key opinion leaders, promoting Castle's DecisionDx-UM test. Your day might involve hosting presentations, lunch-and-learn sessions, or scientific meetings to share insights on uveal melanoma research, using strong communication skills to highlight the clinical benefits of the test. In between, you'll stay updated on product developments and competitor trends, collaborate internally with Castle colleagues, and engage with academic investigators to relay new research concepts, ensuring Castle remains a leader in the field.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Requirements
    • Strong understanding of complex disease states and marketplaces with preference given to oncology, ophthalmology, and rare disease products or testing
    • Demonstrated record of success in promoting products in the medical or diagnostics space, with proven territory and account management skills OR 3+ years of experience as a medical science liaison in a similar field
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders
    • All Castle employees are required to work within company compliance parameters and demonstrate alignment with company values and expectations
    • Actively displays behaviors that support the mission, vision, and values of Castle Biosciences.
  • Preferred Requirements
    • A Ph.D. or clinical degree (CGC, RPh, PharmD, BSN, NP, PA or equivalent) is preferred
    • A thorough understanding of buy and bill products or tests is preferred

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to travel 40-50% on average with overnight stays necessary.
  • There may be 1-2 international trips but most travel is domestic.
