Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift

At Fort Sanders Perinatal Center, we’re here for women with pregnancies that require extra care, and we’re ready to help you make the best healthcare decisions from conception through delivery. For more than 25 years, we’ve provided comprehensive high-risk pregnancy services and delivered over 26,000 high-risk babies at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. We offer a range of care services for higher-risk pregnancies, including mothers over age 35, multiples, complications, birth defects, issues such as diabetes or hypertension, or pregnancies after infertility.

Position Summary: Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.

Responsibilities

Correlates patient history and support systems within hospital care/nursing home care. Assesses learning needs of patient and family. Develops and initiates plan of care, involving patient and family. Recommends interventions. Evaluates plan of care. Resolves problems regarding moderately complex issues without oversight or supervision. Demonstrates active participation in unit or facility activities. Demonstrates willingness to precept employees/students as directed. Reviews clinical performance of preceptee with unit leader or clinical instructor. Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served. Supervises LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs, and sitters. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.

Minimum Experience:

Must possess at least one (1) year of professional experience.

Licensure Requirement:

Valid Tennessee RN license. Fire/security, infection control, and CPR inservices are required.
