Travel Contract Sterile Processing Technician (Rochester, NY)

Duties:

  • Process and sterilize surgical instrumentation from the Operating Room (OR) and off-site locations.
  • Ensure proper cleaning, decontamination, and sterilization of medical instruments and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and inventory.
  • Inspect instruments for functionality and report any issues or needed repairs.
  • Assemble and package surgical instrument sets according to established guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with all infection control policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with OR staff to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with sterilization equipment.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician preferred.
  • Proficiency in sterilization techniques and processing of surgical instruments.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure high standards of cleanliness and sterility.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with medical office procedures and electronic health records systems.

Requirements:

  • Certification in Sterile Processing (e.g., CRCST, CBSPD) preferred.
  • Ability to be flexible with time schedule and location within the Rochester area.
  • Call required approximately every 3rd weekend, from Saturday 8 AM to Monday 8 AM.

Compensation:

  • Weekly stipend: $385.00 (non-taxable)
  • Weekly pay rate: $648.00
  • Total weekly compensation: $1,033.00
