We are currently hiring a  Direct Support Substitute  to join our team. You will be teaching people with intellectual and developmental disabilities new skills and improving their independence. Together, you may also go on outings, enjoying life out and about in the community. The hours for this position vary between  Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM . The pay range for this position is $18.00-$18.50. 

This position is located in San Diego and you can pick up shifts around your schedule. Let us know what works for you and come work with us

A typical day will include:

Providing culturally appropriate direct support to program participants using person-centered approaches and strategies that support clients to be fully engaged and included in each aspect of their daily life, have maximum choice and control, and gain independence. This can take many forms in community or day center settings, including: Support and motivation to reach individual goals and objectives.Engage and assist with meaningful activities that cater to the program participant’s individual interests, preferences, and choices; teaching as necessary.Assistance with self-help needs including in the areas of grooming, hygiene, toileting, feeding and mobility as needed.

What you’ll need to be successful:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Ability to lift 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs.
