We seek a motivated and experienced Prep Lead to join our team. As a Prep Lead, you will prepare and organize ingredients and supplies for your shift. Your attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and culinary expertise will ensure a smooth and efficient operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage the evening prep team to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Prepare and portion ingredients according to established recipes and guidelines.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate with the kitchen manager to ensure adequate stock levels for the evening shift.
  • Ensure all food items are labeled, dated, and stored properly to maintain freshness and quality.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Train and mentor new team members on proper food handling and preparation techniques.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen manager to develop and refine prep procedures, optimizing efficiency and productivity.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of new menu items and specials.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure consistency and adherence to recipe standards.
  • Assist in developing and implementing standard operating procedures for the prep team.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Previous experience in a culinary role, preferably in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • 3+ years experience in previous prep roles 
  • 2+ years experience  in a management or lead role 
  • NYC Food Handler Card 
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for creating high-quality dishes.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
