Introduction:
Are you a master of automation who thrives on optimizing software development pipelines and ensuring seamless deployments? Do you enjoy bridging the gap between development and operations to create scalable, reliable infrastructure? If you're passionate about building CI/CD pipelines, automating cloud infrastructure, and ensuring smooth production environments, then our client has the perfect opportunity for you. We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer (aka The Automation Maestro) to take ownership of our deployment processes, infrastructure, and overall system reliability.
As a DevOps Engineer at our client, you’ll work on designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and automation needed to support our development teams and products. This role is not just about writing scripts and deploying code—it's about creating systems that run efficiently, securely, and scale effortlessly.
Key Responsibilities:
- CI/CD Pipeline Development:
- Design and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and monitoring of applications. You’ll ensure code flows smoothly from development to production with minimal downtime.
- Build and manage scalable cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation. You’ll automate infrastructure provisioning, scaling, and monitoring on cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to track application and infrastructure performance. You’ll proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring high availability and reliability of systems.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes. You’ll ensure that services are deployed in a scalable, fault-tolerant manner, enabling rapid iteration and delivery of software.
- Implement security best practices across development and deployment processes. You’ll manage secrets, handle data encryption, and ensure compliance with relevant standards such as SOC2, GDPR, or HIPAA.
- Work closely with developers, QA engineers, and product managers to streamline the development process and ensure efficient code deployments. You’ll collaborate to identify pain points and improve the overall workflow.
- Plan and implement disaster recovery strategies, ensuring data backups and failover systems are in place. You’ll prepare for the unexpected, ensuring business continuity in the event of failures or outages.
Requirements
Required Skills:
- Automation Expertise: Deep knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and experience with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or Travis CI. You have a knack for automating repetitive tasks and making the software development process faster and more reliable.
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and deploying infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation. You can design scalable, resilient infrastructure.
- Containerization and Orchestration: Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes for deploying, scaling, and managing containerized applications. You’re skilled at ensuring services run smoothly in a containerized environment.
- Monitoring and Logging: Strong experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Datadog. You know how to track system performance and quickly address issues before they impact users.
- Security Best Practices: Deep understanding of security practices related to DevOps, including secrets management, access control, encryption, and compliance. You ensure that infrastructure is secure from vulnerabilities.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field. Equivalent experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure management, or systems engineering is also valued.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Administrator, or Terraform Associate are a plus.
Experience Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in a DevOps or related role, with hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure management, automation, and CI/CD pipelines. You’ve built and managed production environments in cloud platforms.
- Experience with container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure management tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, performance optimization, and security implementation across cloud environments.
Benefits
- Health and Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans with low co-pays and premiums.
- Paid Time Off: Competitive vacation, sick leave, and 20 paid holidays per year.
- Work-Life Balance: Flexible work schedules and telecommuting options.
- Professional Development: Opportunities for training, certification reimbursement, and career advancement programs.
- Wellness Programs: Access to wellness programs, including gym memberships, health screenings, and mental health resources.
