Primary Purpose
:To maintain a record system of Limited English Proficiency (LEP) students; keep data information in such a manner that records can easily be located regarding LEP student testing, placement and monitoring.

Program Management
Assist in carrying out the district’s goal of improving student achievement by providing assistance to students who are at-risk of academic failure or dropping out of school and/or staff who work with these students. Assist teachers in providing instruction to students in the classroom. Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays. Help maintain neat and orderly classroom. Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment. Maintain accurate and up-to-date files related to testing, placement and monitoring Emergent Bilingual students (LPAC notebook). Enter Emergent Bilingual input of student records to computer and reporting and makes corrections to the student’s Emergent Bilingual data file. Prepare agendas for each monthly meeting of the Language Proficiency Assessment Committee. Administer and score oral language proficiency tests and achievement test. Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.Student Management
Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty. Make teacher aware of special needs or problems of individual students.Other
Maintain confidentiality. Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance. Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief. Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Instructional Paraprofessional Personnel.
