AWS SysOps and DevOps Expert

Our client, a successful financial technology and services company, currently seeks a seeking a highly skilled AWS SysOps and DevOps Expert with experience in the financial services sector and a strong understanding of AI technologies to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and automating the company’s AWS infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. You will collaborate closely with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline their development and deployment processes and support AI-driven initiatives. This position will require the selected candidate to work in the company’s Edison, NJ office.

Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Management: Maintain and optimize our AWS infrastructure, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, and other AWS services.
  • Automation: Develop and manage automation scripts and tools for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Design, implement, and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable code deployment.
  • Monitoring & Logging: Implement monitoring and logging solutions to track system performance, availability, and security. Utilize AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and other monitoring tools.
  • Security: Ensure compliance with best security practices and manage identity and access management (IAM) policies.
  • Backup & Recovery: Develop and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Incident Management: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AWS infrastructure and deployed applications. Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
  • Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor system performance and implement optimizations to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to integrate new features and services into the production environment smoothly.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Financial Services Compliance: Ensure all systems and processes comply with financial industry regulations and standards.
  • AI Integration: Support the deployment and maintenance of AI and machine learning models and services, ensuring they are scalable and efficient on AWS.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in AWS SysOps and DevOps roles, with specific experience in the financial services industry.
  • Certification: AWS Certified SysOps Administrator and/or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, CloudFormation, IAM, and others.
  • Scripting & Programming: Strong knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • CI/CD Tools: Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, AWS CodePipeline, or similar.
  • Containerization: Proficiency with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Monitoring & Logging: Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
  • Security Best Practices: Deep understanding of security best practices in AWS, including IAM policies, network security, and data encryption.
  • AI and Machine Learning: Experience deploying and managing AI and machine learning models and services on AWS.
  • Financial Services Compliance: Knowledge of financial industry regulations and standards, such as PCI-DSS, GDPR, or SOX.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Advanced Certification: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.
  • Experience with Databases: Knowledge of managing AWS databases like DynamoDB, Aurora, and RDS.
  • Networking: Strong understanding of networking concepts and experience with VPC design and management.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience with agile methodologies and participation in agile development and release processes.
