Overview: We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Bookkeeper/Controller to join our team at [Company Name], a leading building maintenance company.     • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions promptly and accurately.
    • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions regularly.
  2. Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement) and present reports to management.
    • Generate financial reports for stakeholders and external parties as required.
  3. Budget Management:

    • Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts based on operational goals and historical data.
    • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis reports.
  4. Payroll and Benefits Administration:

    • Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll accurately, ensuring compliance with payroll tax regulations.
    • Manage employee benefits administration, including health insurance and retirement plans.
  5. Vendor and Contract Management:

    • Maintain vendor records and oversee payment processes for contractors and suppliers.
    • Review contracts and ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
  6. Tax Compliance and Reporting:

    • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations.
    • Prepare and file tax returns, including sales tax and payroll tax filings.
  7. Financial Analysis and Forecasting:

    • Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and identify opportunities for cost savings.
    • Prepare financial forecasts and projections based on industry trends and company goals.
  8. Internal Controls and Audit Preparation:

    • Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets.
    • Assist in preparing for audits conducted by external auditors and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Controller, ideally in the building maintenance or construction industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, GAAP principles, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
