Position Overview

The Director Global Treasury manages key operational and intercompany processes and tools, leads projects and initiatives to improve department capabilities and expand access to liquidity resources, and provides Treasury support for new deal activities. This director plays a key role within the department’s risk management and governance responsibilities and provides subject matter expertise and back-up to Treasury Operations and the broader Treasury team.

This Director may work from a remote US location.

Responsibilities

Provides strategic direction for Treasury’s Funding Desk and works with Treasury leadership, Treasury Operations, Structured Finance and other key constituents to identify, develop and source funding solutions. Works with Treasury Operations team to identify ways to improve operational efficiency, capabilities, and transparency of Funding Desk and implements any recommendations. Provides management and leadership of Treasury’s derivative cash collateral pool, FXAll on-line FX trading platform, and oversees operation of RGA’s multi-lateral netting center including central bank compliance. Maintains and keeps all related process documentation up to date. Leads and participates in Treasury projects to develop departmental capabilities, build infrastructure, improve efficiency, and expand capabilities, to support department and company strategic initiatives and objectives. Participates on cross-functional projects as Treasury business lead, as assigned. Works under guidance from the Executive Director, Global Treasury to provide Treasury support for new reinsurance transactions and acquisitions in international and domestic markets. Supports Assistant Treasurer and department’s legal entity risk management and governance responsibilities through quantitative analysis, reporting and presentations to legal entity Boards, Officers, and risk committees. Provides subject matter expertise and back-up for Treasury Operations team for day-to-day operational activities, F/X spot trading, borrowing & investing, and metrics development, tracking and reporting. Impacts the results of the Treasury organization through value-creation. Helps to develop department goals, training plans, job descriptions and supports the annual planning process. Participates in efforts to recruit and retain staff. Tracks and maintains Global Treasury efficiency metrics. Provides coaching for transfer of knowledge, complex concepts, and developmental opportunities for members of Treasury.

Requirements

Education and Experience

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related discipline 8+ years’ experience within treasury or cash management, with a minimum 3-years’ experience in risk management activities, ideally with experience in F/X and interest rate derivatives

Skills and Abilities

Required:

Experienced in risk management principles and tools, including intermediate knowledge of derivatives, derivatives valuation, and accounting principles related to derivatives Intermediate understanding of global capital markets including forms of debt issuance, lending arrangements, derivatives and other capital markets products and structures Highly capable of managing multiple tasks and projects and/or teams simultaneously Strong verbal and written communication and organization skills Strong ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines Strong knowledge of treasury operations, liquidity management and cash forecasting techniques Skilled at identifying, analyzing, and improving complex business processes by applying treasury expertise and business acumen Takes initiative and is accountable Ability to work well with all levels of management and to work independently Ability to work well within a team and participate in department projects and balance detail with departmental objectives Must be flexible and adaptive to change Advanced Excel and Intermediate Word skills
