Job Summary

:

Assists in supervising the day-to-day operations and activities of the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) Residential Reentry Center (RRC) Program, ensuring continued compliance with the stated purpose and policies outlined in The Salvation Army Employee Manual and the Bureau of Prisons Contract, including the Statement of Work. Supervises Correctional Duty Officers ensuring that their work is in compliance with Program objectives, policies, and procedures. Serves as Acting RRC Program Director in the RRC Program Director's absence.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to communicate the English language, both orally and in writing, in an effective and professional manner

Knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision and leadership

Knowledge of the principles and practices of social service program administration

Ability to provide competent resident and facility supervision.

Knowledge of basic counseling techniques, record-keeping procedures, and accountability processes.

Ability to analyze and evaluate case needs and develop a plan to carry out the course of residents' assistance by utilizing resources.

Ability to enforce Program guidelines and requirements and specify/convey to others the aims and purpose of the Program, with emphasis on the need to work harmoniously to achieve goals and objectives.

Ability to discipline Program participants appropriately.

Ability to perform public speaking to promote Program awareness.

Ability to organize and supervise residents in the performance of their assignments.

Ability to motivate, lead, supervise, and evaluate subordinate personnel,

Ability to enforce Program policies and procedures.

Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work to comply with quality standards and deadlines.

Ability to build and maintain effective and professional working relationships with clients and community agencies.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree

AND

two years' supervisory experience jn the Corrections field

OR

any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to meet attendance requirements.

Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull light (less than 25 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Light mobility: duties are usually performed by a combination of standing, walking, and primarily sitting.

Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Position may occasionally require some lifting, walking, and driving.
