Departmental Objective Facilities Management is responsible for maintaining campus buildings utilizing the carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC trades as well as housekeeping and floor maintenance. Purpose of the Position This position will provide repair and maintenance to the HVAC equipment and associated motors and controls. This includes chillers, pumps, VFDs, boilers, specialized controls, etc. It will operate energy management systems (Tridium, Trane Summit, Invensys). It will also assist with the set up of preventative maintenance programs. This position will assist in purchasing materials and supplies using small purchase credit card and eVA. It will maintain records for purchases and track inventory. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Related to Position Working knowledge of methods, practices, materials and equipment used in air conditioning and refrigeration maintenanceDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems to maintain HVAC systems and related equipment in operating condition
Demonstrated ability to make adjustments to thermostats, gauges, valves, motors and other devices to maintain equipment in proper working order and to document the equipment service records
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to be on-call on a rotational basis
Ability to work Monday – Friday, 2 pm – 11 pm
Ability to follow all safety policies and wear PPE as required
Understanding of OSHA and VOSH regulations Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required Education : High school diploma or equivalent. Journeyman HVAC license or ability to acquire within 24 months of start date. Universal EPA Certification
Experience : Considerable experience in HVAC trade at the journeyman level. Additional Consideration(s) Education : Associate’s degree in related field. Master HVAC license.
Experience : Experience with energy management/building automation systems. Salary Information Starting at $47,373, Commensurate with Education and Experience Role Code 79033 Conditions of Employment This is a classified position. New and returning classified employees are required to complete a 12-month probationary period;
Selected candidate must attend 2-day New Employee Orientation Program;
