The Department of Medicine, Division of Medical Oncology has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Research Support Coordinator to work on the UHealth Campus. The Research Support Coordinator will support the varied projects of the Lung Cancer Screening in Hispanic cancer survivors, leading a wide range of financial and operational project support tasks. The Research Support Coordinator will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) and other project members to complete a wide range of financial and operational project and proposal support tasks.

Pre-screen patients, contact physicians who will see potentially eligible patients, consent participants to the study, perform the survey questionnaire, randomization, and provide the lung cancer screening education.

Ensure that the patients undergo blood collection and the blood collected arrives safely at the biospecimen shared resources

Work together with the BCSR throughout the study duration

Monitor project data, routinely update project information systems and dashboards.

Make appointments, meeting arrangements, and coordinates activities between PI(s), co-Investigators (co-Is), subcontractors, clients, and other outside parties.

Prepare, monitor, and update project plans, coordinate project meetings, and take meeting minutes.

Identify, assess, and resolve issues on projects, and escalate complex issues appropriately to PI.

Collaborate with senior staff and other project managers to plan, implement, and communicate project management improvement initiatives.

Maintain tactical responsibility for tracking project status.

Coordinate between key study team members for collaborations.

Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and collaborative problem solving.

Manage timeline around grant proposal writing activities and study reporting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience

Demonstrated effective communication (written, verbal, and presentation skills) in a collaborative environment

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisor, technical staff, and clients.

Ability to operate in a team environment and be flexible in taking on and performing assignments as necessary.

Ability to work with limited supervision.

Ability to perform duties that require close attention to detail.
