Position Summary
Receive, review and electronically enter timecards for union payroll processing. Forward data to operations team for review.  Responsible for collecting photos, safety reports, job hazard analysis paperwork, and toolbox talk reports for filing and/or distribution.  Tracking sick time, paid time off and other information as it relates to payroll processes.  This position will also be involved in some aspects of accounts payable.
 
Job Functions
  • Understand the union payroll and labor requirements
  • Review all new hire employment paperwork and ensure accuracy in completion before entering into payroll system
  • File and maintain employee information in the appropriate locations
  • Assist HR Manager in auditing monthly unemployment account charges
  • Maintain attendance records in accordance with the Company Attendance Policy
  • Assist in printing time card reports for apprentices to do their on the job training reports (OJT)
  • Collect, calculate and enter weekly payroll data for hourly employees
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies
  • Prepare payroll reports on weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis as required
  • Maintain a separate filing system for I-9 documents.  Ensure accuracy in completion and attach a copy of the identification documents submitted with the form
  • Complete any other tasks/duties as may be assigned
  • Maintain professionalism and self-motivation
  • Producing quality work while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Some accounts payable processing and filing
  • Confidentiality and understanding of payroll laws in regards to privacy required.

 
Requirements
  • High school graduate with strong knowledge of accounting practices
  • 3-4 years related experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Products, most notably Excel
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at once while remaining well organized
  • Knowledge and understanding of payroll procedures
  • Strong typing and math skills
  • Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus but not required
