This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS)*.
To be considered for appointment through NY HELPS, candidates must meet the open-competitive minimum qualifications for this position, which are:
A bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience managing contracts and related budgets including one or more of the following areas: negotiation with contractors and vendors; fiscal management, including bidding, payment, analysis, and fiscal reporting; contract development, including developing requests for proposals; contract execution, including securing signatory approval from control agencies; monitoring and review of contract terms.
This position may be designated 55 b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility.

Duties Description The Contract Management Specialist 1’s primary function is to initiate and manage the planning and development of procurement documents and contracts, and/or coordinate activities associated with implementing a procurement contract. The incumbent will serve as a member of a procurement team and report directly to a team lead. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

•Assisting in the development of bid documents and administering the solicitation and evaluation processes;
•Reviewing/monitoring and tracking assigned workload by using internal databases, project management tools, and SharePoint records as required;
•Performing a variety of functions related to contract management;
•Assisting with special assignments and projects related to procurement;
•Other duties as assigned.
