Job Description: Our Aerospace/Subsea Environmental Simulation Laboratory is searching for a competent and experienced CNC Programmer and Machinist to join our team. In this role, the successful applicant will operate a HAAS VF2 and TL-1, keep the machine shop organized, run an OMAX waterjet, and train others in the machine shop. Additionally, you will machine small run parts and custom fixtures for our testing laboratory. If you have a strong background in CNC programming and machining, we greatly encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program, set up, and operate CNC machines, specifically the HAAS VF2 and TL-1.
- Operate and maintain the OMAX waterjet.
- Keep the machine shop organized and ensure it is clean and safe at all times.
- Train other team members on the use of CNC machines and shop equipment.
- Machine small run parts and custom fixtures for our testing laboratory.
- Ensure all machined parts meet the required specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and improve machining processes.
- Maintain accurate records of machining operations and maintenance activities.
- Proven experience as a CNC Programmer and Machinist, with expertise in operating HAAS VF2 and TL-1.
- Experience with operating and programming an OMAX waterjet.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- GED required, bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient with Windows Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- 5+ years of experience in CNC programming and machining.
