R&D Machinist

• Interpret and inspect engineering drawings using GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Plan and execute projects, selecting the right tools and equipment for the job.
• Develop tooling and fixturing solutions for new machining applications.
• Program and run CNC machines, including lathes and mills.
• Train and mentor novice CNC users.
• Maintain lab/shop tools and consumables.
• Setup and run CNC machines on samples provided by engineers/technicians.

• 5+ years of experience in machining and fabrication, preferably in an R&D environment.
• Experience with setting up and operating Multi-Axis CNC Machines, including mills and lathes.
• Competent in recent versions of software systems, such as Fusion 360.
• Good understanding of G code and hand-editing code at the machine.
• 3-5 years of hands-on CNC operation experience.
• Strong CAD/CAM experience, preferably with Solidworks.
• Fine motor skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift and carry 50lbs.
