High School Testing and Assessment Coordinator

Experience working in a high school setting overseeing state testing administration (MCAS, ACCESS) Experience working with a variety of testing and technology platforms (Aspen, WIDA, Pearson, Access Next, College Board, DESE Security portal, Google Suite, Excel, Blackboard, Talking Points) Excellent attention to detail Ability to organize, compile, and manage large amounts of data related to high school graduation requirements. Responsibilities:

Coordinates ACCESS, MCAS, MCAS alt., EPPs and iReady, Advanced Placement and PSAT testing Monitor DESE’s Statewide Testing schedule and communicate those dates with MCAS team and others who need to know. Continuously monitor student enrollment to claim newly enrolled students. Create, maintain, and share MCAS lists throughout the academic year with the Coordinator of Student Support Services and Department Chairs and provide relevant data/information regarding the Modified CD process per DESE guidance and requirements. Oversees the coordination of all MCAS tests (ELA, Math, Science) per DESE schedule. Work with the Office of Performance Management and DESE, to receive access to all necessary portals and testing websites (DESE Security Portal, MCAS Service Center, PearsonAccess Next) Review, understand, and share MCAS and student assessment testing updates, deadlines, policy changes, and other important information from DESE with the administrative team and other staff as needed. Annually review all DESE-provided training materials, webinars, and websites to understand all aspects of testing (Principal and Test Administrator Manuals, Student Assessment Updates, MCAS Service Center training modules, PearsonAccess Next, test security requirements, accommodations allowed for Spec Ed/ELs, Student Participation requirements) Schedule and coordinate MCAS meetings, agendas, and minutes Create project plans with due dates for the MCAS team. Monitor the DESE Dropbox/CSV files and prepare and import them to Pearson Access by the DESE’s ELA, Math, and Science MCAS deadlines. Create a master testing list and testing plan; identify and assign rooms; plan lunches/snacks, make-up exam days. Coordinate deadlines and testing requests with SCALE (if adult testers will continue to test at LHS) Create and send communications about testing to LHS Administrators, students, families and staff. Maintain accurate tester lists and special testing assignments per required accommodations. Track who has passed or needs to pass MCAS and ensure that data is entered into Aspen. Collaborate with IT to prepare Chromebooks for testing. Collaborate with the Coordinator of Student Support Services to ensure 504 students are added to the 504 testing accommodations to CSV files. If needed, organize infrastructure trials. Order and return all testing materials and paper tests by the deadlines. Determine teacher availability each year and assign proctor responsibilities. Prepare all training materials and presentations for staff who will proctor tests. Work closely with Coordinator or Student Support Services, MLL, and Special Education Department Chairs so that the needs of students within these departments are supported for each test. Monitor DESE Security Dropbox data as needed. Prepare PearsonAccess Next (PAN) system for testing and printing tickets. Assign additional accommodations in PAN as needed. On testing days, oversee the coordination of the PearsonAccess Next online testing systems with support from the registrar and IT. Complete paperwork to hire all testing support personnel. Assign tasks to the MCAS testing team on test days. Provide logistical support, displacement planning, and test administration support for each test. Keep the website and all relevant documents updated with the testing schedule and information. In collaboration with the administration, complete the annual discrepancy reporting per DESE schedule for review. Enter Modified Competency Determination requirements in DESE security portal for administrator review. In collaboration with the Coordinator of Student Support Services and Department Chairs, prepare and file MCAS Performance appeals, cohort appeals and transcripts appeals for students who qualify.

Education Proficiency Plans (EPPs)

Create and monitor Educational Proficiency Plans in Aspen for applicable students. Work with the Coordinator of Student Support Services, Department Chairs, School Counselors, and teachers to obtain information about students’ strengths and needs as required to be included in EPPs. Facilitate dissemination of required EPP documentation to parents/guardians

MCAS Alternative Assessment

Determine who is taking MCAS alt. by working with staff who oversee the development of the portfolios. Order MCAS alt. portfolios by the deadline and return by the deadline. Send MCAS alt reports to students/families. File portfolios in student records on Aspen.

ACCESS Testing

Work closely with the MLE Department Chair to coordinate ACCESS testing and the schedule. Order all testing materials and organize for testing. Monitor the WIDA AMS for ACCESS testing. Prepare all training materials and presentations for staff who will proctor. Prepare testing materials, test sessions, and tickets. Coordinate all testing support personnel (hire, submit hiring paperwork, stipend sheets)

College Board Testing (AP and PSAT)

Work with the Coordinator of Student Support Services to ensure students with a 504 plan have the appropriate testing accommodations. Act as the high school SSD Coordinator Order PSAT and AP tests and oversee the AP payment system for students and families. Communicate with students and families regarding PSAT and AP testing logistics and payments. Determine teacher availability each year and assign proctor responsibilities. Work with the Coordinator of Student Support Services to assign School Counselors as proctors for students with a 504 plan. Work with the Coordinator of Student Support Services to train proctors to comply with college board testing regulations. Organization, receiving, and shipment of test materials before and after exams are given.

iReady

Schedule and coordinate all iReady testing for 9th grade. Dissemination of iReady scores to 9th grade administration, LHS administration, and Department Chairs

Reports to the: Head of School, Lowell High School

Qualifications: Master’s degree, 3 years teaching or related experience preferred

Terms of Employment: Work year aligned with FRC and District Safety Coordinator, 228 days.

Salary: per LSAA contract
