Seattle, United States Amazon.com Services LLC Full time
Amazon Advertising is one of Amazon's fastest growing and most profitable businesses. Amazon's advertising portfolio helps merchants, retail vendors, and brand owners succeed via native advertising, which grows incremental sales of their products sold through Amazon. The primary goals are to help shoppers discover new products they love, be the most efficient way for advertisers to meet their business objectives, and build a sustainable business that continuously innovates on behalf of customers.

Our products and solutions are strategically important to enable our Retail and Marketplace businesses to drive long-term growth. We deliver billions of ad impressions and millions of clicks and break fresh ground in product and technical innovations every day

The Creative Building team is part of a newly formed, VP-led organization named CreativeX, which sits within Amazon Advertising. Its mission is to democratize access to high-quality creatives (images, videos) by building generative AI-driven solutions for advertisers. To accomplish this, we are investing in latent-diffusion models, large language models (LLM), computer vision (CV), reinforcement learning (RL), and image + video synthesis. The solutions we develop will be deployed for use by self-service advertisers and agencies, as well as available to the most premium brands that advertise on Amazon.

We're seeking a passionate, team-oriented, and talented Principal Technical Program Manager with experience leading complex technical cross-functional programs working with Product, Engineering, Science, Marketing, PR and Legal. They will own and deliver on critical SVP and S-Team level goals, insisting on high standards from their partner engineering and science teams to deliver results.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills and be able to identify problems and develop solutions. They must have strong analytical capabilities with a process improvement mentality. Cross-team coordination, project management, executive communication, and presentation skills are required.

This is a highly visible position with significant impact and growth. You will lead across engineering, science, marketing, operations, finance, and legal. You will be responsible for defining and executing a new vision for how we scale creative production to generate high-quality creatives and frictionless advertiser experiences to deploy them. You will be responsible for partnering closely with engineering to set priorities and make tradeoffs for your product portfolio. You will be responsible for the day to day operations of your business including revenue, customer concerns, and long term success.

Key job responsibilities
1) Own successful delivery of large, high impact and highly cross-functional product initiatives while simultaneously and accurately tracking a set of smaller projects
2) Drive strategic cross-functional planning, leading discovery and prioritization by closely partnering with product managers and engineering leads to develop program plans that include roadmaps, dependency identifications, and resourcing plans
3) Ascertain the true requirements underlying feature requests; recommend alternative technical approaches and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines
4) Communicate clearly and effectively to executive management on plans, status, and critical issues
5) Partner as a technical liaison between product and engineering teams

A day in the life
- Spending time with customers, scientists, partners to learn about their needs
- Understanding the external landscape and staying close to industry developments
- Developing product visions and working backwards documents
- Reviewing engineering designs, for the highest impact deliverables
- Creating compelling messaging that excites executives and your customers alike
- Consistently improving the quality of your products through inspection and execution
- Mentoring/up-leveling junior product managers

About the team
Our team's mission is to enable any advertiser to quickly build highly engaging image and video creatives. Creative building is a sub-component of the overall campaign experience. The cornerstone of our strategy is generative AI technology, and the opportunity (and complexity) is to bring this technology into the hands of advertisers in the right balance of co-pilot and auto-pilot approaches, given the different states of maturity and fluidity of the AI gen space. We develop and productize seamless creative building and editing experiences that enable advertisers to build once and publish everywhere. We thereby guide hundreds of thousands of advertisers in their journey to embrace and leverage the latest AI gen technology to tell their brand story to millions of consumers. We measure progress against our vision by spurring creative innovation, removing friction from the entire creative process, and achieving ubiquity of our solutions.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
