Job Description

Medical Lab Trainer - Medical Assistant

Functions as a member of the administration medical training department by providing training for Medical Support Staff, trainees, and other employees as needed in Lab skills. MA Lab Trainer approaches his/her tasks in a team-based care fashion that supports patients and their families in self-management, self-efficacy, and behavior change. The MA Lab Trainer mentors and trains staff and trainees, while motivating and empowering them to deliver team-based care that supports patients. 

We offer:

  • The starting wage range is $21.50 to $28 per hr. 
  • 5-day work week – Monday to Friday – 8 am to 5 pm

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • A certified or Registered Medical Assistant required

Experience:

  • Five years of experience working as a medical assistant and or medical instructor Experience working as a medical assistant lab lead at Salud preferred

Licensure:

  • Credentialed Medical Assistant
  • Certified BLS instructor

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to relate well with co-workers and possess sensitivity toward the needs of others
  • Ability to work in a team-based care environment
  • Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, systems, objectives, structures, team building, and culture change
  • Effective organizational, and time management skills
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications
  • Skills in planning, organizing, coordinating, and project management
  • Skills in exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making
  • Must work well with the other patient care team members   
  • Ability to communicate clearly and in public settings
  • Ability to recognize, evaluate, observe, and correct errors
  • Flexibility to learn new skills and tasks
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Ability to pass yearly competency written and hands-on skills
  • Ability to manage employee complaints
  • Must work well with the administration team
  • Sensitivity to low-income and ethnic minority communities is a must
