Position Summary:

The Scenic Product Manager role draws on a variety of skills and experience to develop and maintain inside and B2B sale and rental opportunities; design and related 3D structures; provide technical drawings for client, shop and site reference; pre-flight and manage the production of graphic design files; manage development and delivery of AV Drop product for market; provide senior leadership to AV Drop team; provide on site and shop support as required in support of product and project delivery; project manage all sales and sold materials from quote development through to packing, shipping and delivery; Digital Asset Management of technical drawings and graphics.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promotes/sells/rents – secures orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach. Establish SOW. 
  • Maintain on-going, productive, proactive relation with existing client base 
  • Effectively balances the needs of the team, the client and the business with agility 
  • Custom design AV Drop for retail or event applications according to customer requirements to facilitate the presentation of drawings, pricing, and detailed scope to customers.  
  • Work with fabrication department to ensure that project deadlines and overall scope of jobs are met. 
  • Demonstrates products and services to existing/potential customers and assists them in selecting those best suited to their needs. 
  • Makes telephone calls and in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers. 
  • Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers. 
  • Coordinate’s sale / rental effort with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics and other groups inside the company. 
  • Identifies advantages and compares organization’s products/services to competition 
  • Supplies management with oral and written reports on sales status,  
  • Supplies management with oral or written reports regarding customer needs, problems, interests, and potential for new products and services. 
  • Keeps abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions and competitive activities. 
  • Strong understanding of project management, provide project management on key projects. 
  • Help manage team to deliver consistent and flawless projects within scope, schedule and budget. 
  • Attend industry specific tradeshows in support of the company and the AV drop and other scenic products. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

  • Experienced in AutoCAD and/or Vectorworks 
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite programs a plus, understanding is essential 
  • Experience in Rental Management Software   
  • Advanced to expert Office Suite user 
  • 10+ years’ experience in tradeshow, exhibit, event, theatrical, retail and/or experiential event design, production, and/or management 
  • Prior experience supporting sales in the same above environment 
  • Bilingual in Spanish to work successfully with partners in Spain 
  • Bilingual in Spanish to work with fabrication department 
  • National and International experience in project delivery 
  • Prior education or commensurate experience in project management 

Competencies:

  • Superior understanding of Scenic Products and best techniques to build finished goods. 
  • Excellent B2B sales and customer service skills. 
  • Must have excellent mathematical and computer skills (Excel a must.) 
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining detail. 
  • Exceptional organizational skills are required. 
  • Ability to establish priorities and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.  
  • Troubleshooting is a must. 
  • Experience in sourcing non-standard and standard materials 
  • Preflight client provided graphics artwork for production.
  • Create basic graphic designs as/if required.
  • Source 3rd Party vendors, negotiate pricing and maintain relationships with same.

Physical demands and work environment :

  • Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items of up to 100lbs  
  • Show site support as required to support business and client needs 
  • Trade Show build and participation – some travel required 
  • Able to function in a warehouse environment
